Tides & Location

Fen Farm is on Mersea Island, which can be cut off from the main land when the tides are high. There is a road, called the Strood that can be covered by the sea when the tides are higher than 4.8m, but it’s not usually for more that an hour and often around midday or Midnight.  You can check with tides by looking at the Strood Cam website and we have tide tables available at Reception. When booking your stay with us, we can let you know if the tide is due to cover the strood on your arrival day.

Directions to Fen Farm

To reach Fen Farm the B1025 brings you to the island. Take the left fork to East Mersea and follow the road to the Dog and Pheasant pub. Take the first turning on the right after the pub, Moore Lane, to Fen Farm. Please check in with our Wardens – you will be emailed or posted details shortly before your arrival.
